Help your students to tell better stories
Everyone loves a good story.
Whether it’s a book, film, short story, play, video, a video game, a news story, an old fashioned yarn or any other kind of narrative, we all love stories.
And at Felstead Education we believe everyone can tell a good story – as long as they have the right tools.
So that’s why we created The Storyteller’s Toolkit.
The Story Teller’s Toolkit will give your students the skills and the confidence they need to tell great stories every time by learning the essential skills of storytelling structure and character creation.
As a result students will:
Feel more confident in their writing skills
Be more creative and imaginative in their storytelling
Better understand the structure and process of storytelling
Create more vibrant and interesting characters
Build solid, well developed plots for their stories.
Gain greater enjoyment from writing and reading
Being able to tell an engaging, meaningful, powerful story is a vital skill for anyone to have – especially students.
Whether it is as part of an English curriculum, a Drama or Media project, or even moving into fields such as LOTE or Visual Communications, storytelling helps us to convey information in manner that is second to none.
The program is inspired by the work of Joseph Campbell, one of the most influential story telling experts of all time.
The Storyteller’s Toolbox will empower students to improve both their plot building and character development skills, drawing on practical examples used in popular stories such as Star Wars, The Lion King, Harry Potter and more.
As a result of the program students will be able to:
Better understand the universal plot structures that underpin good stories
Create strong, unique and purposeful characters, based on time honoured character archetypes
Develop greater confidence in their story telling, and broader writing skills
Better understand, analyse and critique stories, films and novels in their curriculum
Write their own unique, powerful and engaging stories
Create higher quality plays, scripts and videos
